Aware - A Notification Management System

Aware is a system and an approach to manage workflows in distributed organizations. Awareness of the changes in the information space during collaborative work is an important part of any group of people functioning effectively. The ability to monitor and be informed of the changes in this shared space that constitutes a person's structured and unstructured workspace often limits the effectiveness of information workers.

Most work management models are a dichotomy of a subscribe-publish model of awareness to handle ad-hoc hoc workflow and a state-based workflow model for structured workflow. Aware uses a single architecture and execution model, providing simple as well as complex multi-event publish-subscribe models that can be used for both fragments of complex multi-event publish-subscribe and for creating specific sequences for managing structured workflow across applications.

Most current workflow applications are tied to specific applications making integration of multiple workflows across diverse applications difficult. This opens up the Pandora's box of inter-operability woes. Aware is platform-independent and designed for inter-operability.

Aware is robust, scalable, and can be distributed across organizations and applications. This unique patent-pending architecture will obviate the need to create from scratch workflow applications for specific tasks and will provide an infrastructural component to evolve and maintain continuity in the interaction among different components, applications, and divisions in distributed organizations.
