Chaavi Logo

Chaavi  is a patented peer-to-peer transformation management system for managing tools and applications which perform electronic data transformations such as translations, format conversions, encryption/decryption, compression/decompression, encoding/decoding, routing, etc. It is based on the premise that an enterprise should view its data transformation needs as a core infrastructural capability in order to deal with interoperability, legacy and migrations issues in a systematic fashion. Chaavi can potentialy save millions by systematizing resource utilization, avoiding duplication of capabilities, and ensuring high availability of services.
Chaavi  was developed and is used by researchers at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA.

Separation of the task from the service
Chaavi separates the notion of a service which is handled by the server which translates to one or more tasks that are handed over to the application(s) best capable of performing them through a broker.
Chaavi Architecture

Automatic discovery of services
Chaavi peers discover each others' services automatically and make all services available for other enterprise applications such as mail, document management and others through any one of the peers.

Scalability
Beacuse of redundancy and load balancing at both server and application levels, Chaavi is of highly scalable and configurable to the needs of an enterprise.

Failure management
With built-in failure management features such as crash recovery, active failure monitoring and roll-back, Chaavi provides a high degree of service availability and reliability.

Resource monitoring
Each server can actively monitor resource usages, request loads and periodically synchronize with a central server. This monitoring feature helps an enterprise to detect and correct bottlenecks and under-utilization.
